Porcelain Veneers in Bethlehem, PA
Front teeth shaped by hand, so your smile still looks like you.
Shaped by hand, one at a time
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic bonded to the front of your teeth, and I place them at Always About Smiles, our Bethlehem, PA dental office. They mask discoloration, close gaps and reshape worn or chipped teeth, and each one is shaped by hand for you at daVinci Dental Studios in California.
Changing the shape, keeping the tooth
Veneers instantly reshape your teeth and smile. They can be used to lengthen or shorten your teeth to restore a more youthful smile. Veneers are an excellent replacement for old white plastic fillings, and the process is more conservative than restoring your teeth with crowns. The porcelain veneer is incredibly thin, so only a small amount of enamel from the surface of the tooth needs to be removed.
The hands that shape each veneer
Your veneers are made at daVinci Dental Studios in California, by a technician who has shaped veneers by hand for thirty years. daVinci Dental Studios describes itself as the leader in the cosmetic dental veneer industry since 1976. Experience matters. We understand the importance of fabricating life-like porcelain veneers. Done poorly, veneers can result in teeth that look thick and unnatural. We pride ourselves in creating the most natural-looking porcelain veneers possible.
From first conversation to finished smile
This simple procedure can be completed in as little as two to three visits. At the first visit, we will discuss your goals for your new smile. At the second, your teeth are prepared and temporary veneers are placed, which look like the final product. These are adjusted to create the exact size and shape that look perfect for your smile. Within three weeks, your custom-made veneers are put into place.
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic material that are bonded to the front of your teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of your smile. They are placed to mask discolorations, brighten your teeth, improve your crooked, chipped or worn smile, and close spaces to eliminate gap-toothed smiles.
How much do porcelain veneers cost in Bethlehem, PA?
Veneers are quoted per tooth, so what matters is how many teeth are in the plan — and you have the whole figure in writing before anything begins. Insurance rarely contributes to cosmetic work, though we're fee-for-service, we file your claim for you, we're good at it, and we'll push to get you reimbursed. Financing is available.
How long does it take to get porcelain veneers?
Two visits, spread over about three weeks. Your goals are settled at the first visit, the teeth are prepared and temporaries fitted, and the finished veneers go on at the second visit. You will adjust to your new porcelain veneers in about two weeks, and there are no food restrictions once they are placed.
Is getting veneers comfortable?
This procedure requires little or no anesthesia. Where anesthetic is used, I buffer it chair-side before the injection, which brings it closer to your body's own neutral pH and makes the numbness more rapid and profound, and OraVerse, a novocaine-reversing agent, is available afterward to return the area to normal sensation. You're in control. Give me the safe signal and I stop if you need a pause.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
Your veneers can be expected to last up to 15 years. As with all procedures, proper home care and regular dental visits will help prolong the life of your new veneers. Under our Peace of Mind Limited Dental Warranty, porcelain veneers are warranted five years against fracture with normal use when you follow our recommendations for care, cleanings, and treatment.
Are veneers a better choice than crowns for a front tooth?
Often, yes, because the process is more conservative than restoring your teeth with crowns — a veneer covers the front of the tooth where a crown covers all of it. Where a front tooth has already been heavily filled or has cracked through, a crown is the sounder restoration, and I'll tell you which I'd choose for your tooth and why.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do my own teeth have to be ground down for veneers?
Only a small amount of enamel comes off the front surface. The porcelain veneer is incredibly thin, so only a small amount of enamel from the surface of the tooth needs to be removed. Unlike crowns or caps, veneers require very little reduction of the natural tooth. You may see "no-prep" veneers online. They can be done in very rare and specific cases, but because a veneer still needs some minimal thickness, they generally result in bulky, overshaped teeth. We prepare the teeth for veneers, which gives you a natural, lifelike appearance, healthy gums and a proper bite. Will anyone be able to tell I've had veneers done?
Not if the shapes are right. We work with you to carefully plan the color, shape and size of the veneers to give you the beautiful, natural smile you are looking for. Done poorly, veneers can result in teeth that look thick and unnatural, which is why we work out your smile with temporaries first.Does the brand of veneer make a difference?
There are various types of porcelain veneers available, and Dr. Lambert has expertise in all of them — daVinci, Enamelette Ultra Thin, MAC, Cerinate, Empress and Lumineers among them. The differences between various brands aren't dramatic. He has researched all of them. If you have a particular preference, let him know. Can I have just one veneer, or does it have to be a whole set?
One is common, usually for a single dark or chipped front tooth. The whole job in that case is the color match to the teeth on either side, which I take against your own teeth in natural light. We keep an extensive set of shade tabs in the office, so there's a tab for whatever shade your teeth actually are, and our laboratory builds to that match.I've been quoted for veneers somewhere else. Can I talk it through with you first?
Yes. Our free second-opinion consultation for cosmetic and implant work is a conversation with me about what another dentist has told you. Call the office at (610) 868-9928 and ask for a second-opinion consultation.
